I am with the following problem:
The User does not appear in the contact list of other users, however if you do a search it is possible to visualize and chat with this contact, someone already had a similar problem?
Hi
A few questions
1. I want to customise sparkweb. Where is the latest source code?
2. Are there any developer guidelines for Sparkweb? If it exists a documentary resource and or flowchart that describes the functions of the different modules would be really helpful.
Here are my main goals.
a. Adding a dynamic user information window to the left of the text windows.
b. Changing the default server.
c. Adding a text to voice module for users with limited vision.
d. Changing default font sizes
I would really appreciate it if someone was able to point me in the right direction or to any existing resources/examples.
Thanks in advance
David
PS Whilst I am not a newcomer to coding I am a java newbie!
Openfire 3.7.0

When iChat users send a screen sharing (or video) request, the receiving user doesn't get a notification to accept. Is there something that needs to be setup in openfire admin for this to function? Right now, we are using Bonjour to meet those needs, but users don't like using duplicate lists.
HI
Does anyone have any idea how I might create a text to sound module in openfire?
I would like this to work so that a wav file was created by converting the text into sound and then both the text and sound pushed to the client by the server.
Thanks in a dvance for any pointers
David
Good Afternoon,
What do I input for BaseDN, Search Fields, User Filter and Group Filter
Below is my Ad structure
1. I want ONLY members of the OpenFire_Users Group pulled into openfire and have the ability to authenticate through Pidgin to openfire.
2. I installed OpenFire 3.8.0 and could not chat w/other users.. (seems to be a known issue) I tried 3.8.1 beta and after installing, openfire was not even showing up as a service on the server, I decided to install 3.7.2 and COULD communicate between users, but it was pulling ALL ad users in ALONG with OpenFire_Users, but that is now how I wanted it.. Again, I want only the group specified to be pulled in.
3. Is there a way to pre-populate users inside of everyones chat? For example, when a users logs in for the first time, he/she see’s ALL available chat users.. This would eliminate the user having to “add” each user individually.
4. I would like Domain Admins to be admins.. or Do I need to add admins individually?
5. Whenever I made my base DN dc=domain,dc=com I could add admins on the last step of the set-up but when I drilled down to the OU containing the user group (OpenFire_Users), I could not add admins on the last step of the setup? Do I need to specify where the admins reside?
THANK YOU in advance
Brian
Hi I am trying to get Openfire up and running here at my company.
One of the users has a Mac running Mountain Lion 10.8.2
She inputed the server information, username, and password
into Mac Messages and is getting a valid Jabber ID must be entered
I had her install Spark and input the same information and Spark
connected fine.
Will Mac Messages work with Openfire? is there a step or a configuration
that we are leaving out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I haveinstalled awindowsserver 2008, tendoa domain, and youput itinthe programachievessparks, but I onlyworklocally, as I do for anotheristo connectto the samechat
I need to connectthelocal networkchatandinternetnetwork

I am not really sure if assigning JIRA issues to the project lead is a good policy. I creates the impression to end users that there is actually somebody assigned to the issue and maybe even working on it. IMHO it would be better to leave them to unassigned, because that's what they are really are.
I discussed that with Robin a while ago. He was in favor of the current policy. If I remeber his argument was that the project lead has an overview of the current open issues. But that could also be achieved with a simply JIRA query, and remeber those can be saved for later re-use.
I also think that new developers which want to contribute would be more attracted to "unassigned" issues instead of a issue that belongs to someone. That would also match my workflow to assign myself only to issues I intend to fix in the near feature.
What do you think?
I've been running OF 3.7.1 with 1.7u5 for a long time in a two node configuration with Coherence for clustering. I recently upgraded our DR environment to 3.8.1 from SVN and replaced Coherence with Hazelcast. With 1.7u5 it works great - It was running for 36 hours with 2 users connected and CPU was basically flat.
With either of the current JREs 1.6u39 or 1.7u5 I see periodic high CPU on both nodes. Typically the CPU utilization lasts for a minute or so, however it corresponds with an exception in org.jivesoftware.openfire.nio.ConnectionHandler on the other node. Both nodes seem to periodically experience this exception due to SSL padding issues from health checks from our load balancers (which is really just XMPPHP connecting and authenticating using TLS). Even just running for a couple of hours I see spikes up to 10% CPU.
I've seen lots of people complaining about SSL padding errors on Java 1.7, but never any real solutions. Has anyone experienced similar performance anolomies with Openfire and Java 1.7?
I have recently started working at a company that has a openfire server with spark. This is not my first time using the software as at my previous position i setup their openfire. I am getting a few users that are randomly getting disconnected from the server. here are the logs from the events up untill the point of the next disconnect only difference between them is obviously the ip address for the individuals.

Hello Community,
In my Company we are using:
- Active Directory on a Windows Server 2008.
- OpenFire 3.7.1 (Windows)
- Spark 2.6.3
I found a way to set my Profile Picture in Spark.
But i want to change the pictures of the other user too with the open Fire admin, but the picture won't save in the profile.
Please help.
In the sparkplug kit instructions it says:
To setup a project to run Spark within your IDE, you will need to the following:
However I am sure I saw somewhere that using jre 1.7 was better for runtime. Does the 1.4 recomendation for build still apply?
Thanks
David
Gday people, I noticed soemthing rather odd the other day after you have logged into the OpenFire dashboard.
Every time i Clicked the "Server" Link under the Openfire logo (top left) i had noticed the java memory jumping each time.
If you keep clicking the "Server" link without makign any changes then you will find the memory can get very high, just asking why this would happen and i can it cause it to cause a memory dump once it reaches the limit?.
Hey guys,
Setting up Openfire 3.8 on 2008 R2 and having an issue with the groups and users populating in Spark.
I completed the setup successfully, but when attempting to use Spark I can't see any users or the security groups. When I go to the Admin Console - Users/Groups - Groups and look at the groups it has pulled from AD I can open the group. The problem is that when I select "Enable contact list group sharing" and enter the group name I want, select "Share group with additional users", "All Users" and save; I get this message:

We're using the open fire 3.7.1 code base and what we are encountering is that open fire runs out of memory due to http sessions not getting cleaned up. Upon examining the heap dump, there were 1 GB of HttpSession objects where the majority of the memory is taken up by HttpSession Deliverable objects filling up the pendingElements array list which represents events that should be published to this http session and user but are unable to be delivered.
Upon further inspection, the HttpSession that had the largest share of memory had to last activity value about two weeks prior to the OOM, which is way longer than the 30 second inactivity timeout that should cause the HttpSession Reaper to clean up that session.
Has anybody encountered such behavior where zombie sessions are not getting cleaned up?
Thanks,
Conrad
As spammers found a way to go through url links filtering and it seems they are creating new accounts in dozens i have disabled new accounts registration for now. Will try enabling in a few days. Or you may enable it earlier if you will find how to block them again and clean up the mess (LG? )
UPD: changed the policy to Registration moderation.
UPD 2: disabled registration again as new registrations numbers are overwhelming and it is impossible to guess hwo is spammer or not.
May be we should update prototype.js library for admin console to last stable realese ? We are using version is 1.5. alpha and current stable is 1.7.
Just wondering...
Could even just use GitHub since its all opensource.
