OS - CentOS 5

Openfire installed from openfire-3.7.1-1.i386.rpm runs OK.

Some time ago I tried:

service openfire stop

rpm --upgrade --nosignature openfire-3.8.0-1.i386.rpm

service openfire start

Couldn't connect client (exodus) so did:

service openfire stop

rpm --upgrade --nosignature --force openfire-3.7.1-1.i386.rpm

service openfire start

to back out. Client can now connect. No messages received from either rpm

command.

Today, I tried again with openfire-3.8.1-1.i386.rpm. same issue as with 3.8.0.

I see nothing in error.log or warn.log. info log contains messages like
