Hello the following post has been published in 2008. And back then the Openfire server had the following hardware requirements per quota of concurrent users.
Hardware Recommendations
Concurrent Users | Recommendation |
---|---|
1-500 | At least 384 MB of available RAM and one 1.5 GHz processor. |
501-10,000 | At least 768 MB of available RAM and one 3.0 GHz processor. |
10,001-25,000 | At least 1.5 GB of available RAM, two 3 GHz processors, and one connection manager on the same machine. |
25,001-100,000 | At least 2.0 GB of available RAM, two 3 GHz processors, and between 1 and 4connection managers based on exact size, each on their own equivalent machine. |
However, from 2008 to 2014 almost 6 years, I would like to know if the requirements can be applied to Openfire 3.9.3 or had they been improved ?
The other question is about the usage of a connection manager for concurrent users from 25,000 - 100,000.
I haven't seen a lot of posts about it recently; Knowing that recent openfire releases had gotten better and better handling more users, I would like to know if the connection manager is still necessary to use ?
Regards,
Chris
