Can't connect to admin panel

I've just installed OpenFire on a Debian Linux server.  I can access the admin panel on port 9090 internally with http://localhost:9090.  However, I can't access it from another machine.  I get a connection timed out error.  Have disabled my firewall completely and tried changing the port to 8080 but the same thing happens.  Any ideas?  Many thanks.
