MUC chat, user repeately receive offline messages

Hello

currently I use openfire 3.8.2, for MUC chat, when user becomes offline for a while and then re-connect, user can normally receive offline message,

now suppose that after user is reconnected, and there is no more message sent for the MUC room, then if user  re-connect again, user still get the same message, is there any way to ignore the repeated message for openfire? thanks in advance
